About Signature Health Painesville
Signature Health is a nonprofit substance use and mental health disorder treatment center with locations throughout Northeast Ohio, including the facility on S. State Street in Painesville. They’re not too far from Kiwanis Recreation Park and some shopping centers. Different locations offer different services. In addition to addiction and mental health services, the Painesville location also offers infectious disease care, primary care, an onsite pharmacy, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) for detox. There’s an intensive outpatient program (IOP) at this location as well.
The addiction treatment programs accept Traditional Medicare, some Medicare Advantage plans, and Medicaid. They also offer sliding scale payment services. You must be 18 years of age or older and live within 50 miles of the facility to enter the MAT program. You also have to be medically stable and willing to participate in all the treatment services. You need to be stable on your psychiatric medications if you’re taking them.
MAT treatment is helpful for detoxing from opioid and alcohol use disorders. MAT helps you continue with your normal daily activities and life while lowering your risk of overdose death and relapse. The medications used at this clinic include buprenorphine (also known as Sublocade, Brixadi, Suboxone, and Subutex) and naltrexone (Vivitrol). Some are monthly injections while others are daily pills.
You’ll start the program with a 90-minute new patient assessment. You’ll have a diagnostic assessment that includes lab work and other tests. They’ll schedule you for an appointment with your psychiatrist or addiction medicine provider, and once you’re approved for the program, you’ll see a nurse for your first dose of MAT.
You’ll have a followup appointment to ensure there are no unwanted side effects from the medication, and you’ll be required to take urine drug screenings to ensure continued sobriety. If you have difficulty getting to the program due to a lack of transportation, let them know. They offer transportation to eligible patients. They’re also located near a main bus route.
Once you’ve started on MAT, you may want to consider the IOP program. The IOP offers a supportive environment where you can address your substance use and any co-occurring mental health disorders with individual and group therapy.
Levels of Care
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
