About Southcentral Foundation Dena Coy

Southcentral Foundation’s Dena A Coy Program in Anchorage, Alaska has residential treatment for women struggling with addiction, mental health concerns, and even domestic violence. The program creates a safe environment where adult women can heal and grow. The program has special services for pregnant women and mothers that helps them get treatment without being separated from their children.

Your journey here will be uniquely tailored to your needs. You’ll have individual counseling about your experiences and group therapy that addresses concerns such as parenting skills, building healthy relationships and other important life skills. Best of all, if you have children aged three or under they can be considered for admission with you.

The treatment program generally lasts 120 days, but your specific duration will depend on your progress and needs. If you have children older than three but under age 18 you can arrange visits with them after you’re admitted to Dena A Coy.

You’ll have a roommate if you come into the program without children, and a woman with a child will share a room. You’ll have your own bed, dresser, closet and nightstand. Those with children will also have a crib or toddler bed and changing table. Mothers are responsible for providing diapers, wipes, formula, and other needs for their kids.

During the program, all of your meals and snacks will be provided. Outside food isn’t allowed but you’ll have access to a customer kitchen for beverages and snacks 24 hours a day. Your phone will be safely stored during your stay, and you can get letters in the mail as well as phone calls on a central line.

As an Alaska Native organization, they honor traditional values and cultural practices in their approach to healing. They strive to provide a community of women supporting each other toward a brighter future.
