About Summer House Detox Center
Summer House Detox Center is a substance use detoxification center offering a luxury detox experience. The house is located on Memorial Highway in sunny, balmy Miami, Florida. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol and opioid detox. If you’re wondering about payment, they accept insurance from most major providers. They’re also in network with many insurance companies.
If you’re ready to stop using substances, detox is the first step to a sober lifestyle. Detox is when you rid your body of the toxic substances you’ve been using. During the process, you may experience some uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms, but they’ll give you medication to help ease your symptoms. You’ll be medically monitored by a nurse 24/7, and the patient to staff ratio is 2:1.
One of the nice things about this center is the luxury experience. They have a home setting with wifi, internet, TV, computer, and cellphone access. You’ll have the option to attend Tai Chi and yoga classes, get acupuncture, and then wind down in the jacuzzi.
When you start the program, you’ll be given a full medical assessment with blood work and have individual sessions with a medical doctor and addiction specialist. Once you begin detox you’ll start individual therapy. Therapy is important in any substance use rehab program because it helps you get to the root of your addiction.
MAT detox is commonly used for opioid withdrawal. The medications they use for opioid detox include methadone, buprenorphine, and clonidine. Methadone and buprenorphine are opioid agonists which take the place of the opioids you’ve been using. They don’t give you the same rush as the opioids and they reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Clonidine is usually used for clients who’ve become dependent on prescription opiates. Clonidine treats high blood pressure and reduces the symptoms of opiate withdrawal.
After the detox program, most people move to an inpatient or outpatient rehab program. Detox breaks the physical dependence on substances but it’s important to address the psychological and emotional aspects of the disease. Your treatment team can help you decide what program would be best for you.

-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
