About The Commitment House
The Commitment House is a CARF-accredited drug and alcohol rehab facility with multiple locations. Their Elizabethtown, Kentucky, site offers residential detox and outpatient services. They serve up to 37 men at any given time who use multiple substances and may also have mental health disorders as well as chronic or urgent medical needs. Their staff provide unbiased care for all their clients.
They provide medical withdrawal management (also known as detox) with comfort medicines. Beginning detox can be a scary process, and the staff at The Commitment House assures you that you don’t have to do it alone. Their experienced staff will administer medications to make the withdrawal process as comfortable as possible so that you don’t have to go through unpleasant withdrawal symptoms.
Most clients step down from detox into their 28-30 day residential program. During that month, you’ll have a safe and sober place to heal, learn about addiction and how to stay sober for the rest of your life. They also have several outpatient programs that you may choose from.
As a resident, you may bring five outfits, shower shoes, unopened hygiene items, and non-perishable snacks and coffee as well as a lock for your locker. Cigarettes and dip are permitted in designated smoking areas. Bedding is provided for you. I like that they can provide laundry detergent and hygiene items if you don’t have any. Clients can bring prescription medication which will be inspected and approved by their medical team. It’s not exactly a homey place, since there’s no refrigerator and you can only access a microwave to heat non-perishable items. As more of a camp than a home, this can help create an environment that encourages you to be independent and establish daily routines.
The Commitment House accepts most insurance providers. They also provide self-pay options for people who don’t have coverage. I like that their staff will help you get enrolled in healthcare coverage, if needed.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
Programs
