About The Orenda Center of Wellness
The Orenda Center of Wellness is a CARF-accredited alcohol and drug addiction treatment center in Frederick, Maryland. They also treat dual-diagnosis patients. They have inpatient residential treatment for men and women, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for detox and outpatient and intensive outpatient programs.
Different programs are in different locations. The treatment facility on Market Street is for outpatient treatment only and you can get MAT for detox at that location. They accept insurance from most major providers.
The outpatient program and intensive outpatient program (IOP) can support you in detox through the use of MAT. The medications they use include Vivitrol, Suboxone, and Sublocade. These medications are especially effective for opioid withdrawal. You may be given medication to help ease the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal too. You’ll need to be attending one of the programs to receive MAT.
Some common symptoms of withdrawal from alcohol include headaches, fatigue, mood changes, insomnia, and anxiety. You may also have heart palpitations and gastrointestinal issues. Be sure to share any symptoms you experience with your counselor during treatment.
Withdrawal from opioids can also cause uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. These may include anxiety, agitation, sweating, muscle aches, and insomnia. As withdrawal continues, you may have diarrhea, cramping, nausea, and vomiting. Check with your treatment provider for concerning withdrawal symptoms.
The outpatient treatment program includes regular drug testing. If you opt out of the testing, you won’t be able to continue your participation in the program. While you’re detoxing and in one of the outpatient programs, you’ll be expected to attend individual and group therapy, since detox on its own isn’t typically effective for long-term sobriety.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
