Ponessa Behavioral Health is an outpatient treatment center for substance abuse and other behavioral health issues in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. They actually have several locations in the region, and they can help adults and adolescents ages 13 and older.
This outpatient facility can provide a type of outpatient detox called medication assisted treatment, or MAT. They use medications like methadone or Suboxone to gradually reduce your physical dependence on certain drugs. This is typically for opioids like fentanyl and heroin and prescription pain medication like Oxycontin, but some MAT providers have medications they use for alcohol detox, too. MAT may not be suitable for clients of all ages, but the providers here will be able to look at your circumstances and determine the best way to help you detox.
It’s important to keep in mind that MAT helps ease you off of drugs from a physical standpoint, but addiction is largely mental too.
