About UChicago Medicine AdventHealth New Day Center for Addictions Westmont
The University of Chicago Medicine AdventHealth New Day Center, formerly the AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale New Day Center, provides outpatient medical detox, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults in Westmont, Ilinois. When detox is complete, clients are referred to the appropriate next step in treatment.
Medical outpatient detox is for clients who aren’t at risk during the detox process. Clients can visit the clinic daily for medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, or naltrexone (Vivitrol), along with an assessment. The detox process also includes counseling and treatment planning.
After detox, clients may be medically stable enough to join one of the New Day Center’s outpatient programs. The PHP is a full-time day program, and the IOP meets several times a week for a few hours per session. Other clients might need the support of a residential program to begin their recovery process.
University of Chicago Medicine may accept multiple insurance plans, such as Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Beacon, United Healthcare, and more. Be sure to check with the insurer to verify out-of-network benefits and other coverage information.

Levels of Care
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
-
PHP
Partial hospitalization programs provide comprehensive treatment in a structured setting during the day but allow you to return home at night. These programs offer a balance of inpatient and outpatient rehab and provide intensive support without full time residency.
-
Intervention
An intervention is a structured and professionally guided conversation with an individual who is struggling with addiction. During the conversation, family and friends will encourage you to seek treatment. This is often a pivotal step for those resistant to getting help.
-
Dual Diagnosis
Dual diagnosis programs address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously. This integrated approach to care improves the likelihood of long term recovery and stability by addressing the root causes of addiction.
Detox Service Setting
-
MAT
Medication assisted treatment combines medication and counseling to manage withdrawal and reduce cravings for opioid and alcohol addiction. Medications may include methadone, buprenorphine or naltrexone. MAT is tailored to your needs so you can actively participate in your treatment journey.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
