About UR Medicine Mental Health & Wellness – Strong Recovery
UR Medicine Mental Health & Wellness’s Strong Recovery program is part of the University of Rochester Medical Center. They have four locations, including the facility on West Henrietta Road in Rochester, New York. The West Henrietta Road location is an outpatient substance use disorder treatment center serving adolescents and young adults from ages 14 to 24. Care is tailored to the age and emotional development of each patient.
The facility accepts most major insurance plans. They also accept Medicaid and Child Health Plus for children under 19. They won’t deny you access to services if you’re unable to pay, and they offer a sliding and discounted fee schedule.
The facility is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), and they’re accredited by The Joint Commission. They don’t have an inpatient detox program, but they do offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid and alcohol detox.
The MAT program includes options for detox from alcohol, opioids, nicotine, and other substances. They use methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, oral naltrexone, acamprosate, disulfiram, and varenicline. You’ll meet with credentialed professionals to determine the best course of treatment for your situation. I also like how they’ll work with your primary care provider so that your treatment will become part of your regular health routines.
A specialist will evaluate you for co-occurring disorders, such as bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, or schizophrenia. It’s important to identify any co-occurring disorders because they usually play a major role in substance use. The outpatient program includes peer support services, and individual and group therapy. In group therapy and peer support groups, you’ll work on building a strong support network while getting to the root of your addiction.
The program is integrated with the UR Medicine system, so you’ll have access to primary medical care services in addition to the program’s mental health and addiction services while attending the outpatient program. The Opioid Treatment Program hours are Monday through Friday 6:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
Detox Service Setting
-
Inpatient Detox
Inpatient detox occurs in a dedicated treatment facility. You’ll live there around the clock and receive intensive medical support and supervision to help manage your withdrawal symptoms. It is suitable for individuals with moderate to severe addictions as it ensures a stable detox environment.
-
Outpatient Detox
Outpatient detox gives you access to medically supervised withdrawal services while still allowing you to live at home. You’ll attend a clinic for treatment and monitoring. This flexible option is suitable for those with mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms who have strong support systems.
Programs
-
Alcohol Detox
Alcohol detox programs offer medical support to help individuals withdraw safely from alcohol. Your care team may use medications to ease your symptoms and provide medical monitoring to address complications.
-
Drug Detox
Drug detox programs support individuals who are withdrawing from addictive substances like cocaine and heroin. Medical support helps you manage symptoms in a controlled and safe environment so you can achieve initial sobriety.
