Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital
About Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital
Valley Forge Medical Center and Hospital is a substance use and addiction rehab facility. The hospital was formerly a country home and accommodates men and women separately. They’re located in Norristown, Pennsylvania and they treat substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
They also offer medical detox at the facility. They take most of the major insurance carriers, including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield and UnitedHealthcare. They also accept Medicaid and Medicare.
The first step is an intake assessment that includes your medical history, overall health and substance use history. You’ll be given a treatment plan based on your unique history and needs. Detox is the foundation for your sober journey. During detox you’ll rid your body of the substances you’ve been using.
The center uses medication assisted treatment (MAT) to ease your withdrawal symptoms. There are different medications for detox and the physicians will decide which is the best for you based on the substances you’ve been using. Some of the medications they use are Suboxone and methadone. You may need different medications or no medications at all depending on your situation.
At the center, they take a holistic approach that integrates detox with medical and wound care (if necessary) in conjunction with counseling. You’ll have medical supervision around the clock, seven days a week to ensure detox is safe and comfortable.
When you’re done with detox you’ll decide what steps to take next. There’s a residential treatment program available for continued care.

Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies.
