About Valley Vista
Valley Vista is a comprehensive substance use and behavioral health disorder treatment center. This is a residential treatment program that integrates detoxification into the inpatient program. They also have medication assisted treatment (MAT). The inpatient programs are gender specific, and the men’s program is on Upper Plain in Bradford, Vermont. The women’s program is in Vergennes, Vermont. Both programs welcome Veterans and are part of the Optum VA network. The facility also accepts insurance from many major providers. They’re in network with several companies, including BlueCross BlueShield, United Healthcare, Cigna, and more.
The inpatient detox is medically supervised. You’ll have around the clock monitoring from nurses, and there’s also an onsite psychiatrist. The psychiatrist can adjust your treatment plan in response to any withdrawal issues you may have. Some people experience uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms during detox, and the staff will give you medication to make you more comfortable. If you’ve been using opioids, alcohol, or benzodiazepines, you may receive MAT. This is a specific type of medication therapy to help you withdraw without severe side effects.
Many people with addictions have one or more co-occurring disorders. A co-occurring disorder is a mental health issue such as depression or bipolar disorder. Getting to the bottom of your substance use is important so you can learn ways of managing your symptoms to increase your chance of maintaining long term sobriety.
A few therapies you may use include dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in holistic physical activities such as yoga.
The center is situated in the woodlands of Bradford. You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature and just relax in a stress-free environment. There are nature trails and adventure therapy awaits.
Former clients were very supportive and noted that the staff and services for top notch. One client said the center saved his life.

Levels of Care
-
Inpatient
Inpatient and residential programs provide round-the-clock medical and emotional support as you live at the treatment facility. This level of care may be recommended if you have severe addictions or mental health conditions since it removes outside distractions and allows you to focus solely on therapy.
-
Aftercare
Aftercare programs provide ongoing support after you complete a rehab program. They may include several components to help you maintain sobriety including therapy, community support groups and relapse prevention strategies. This gives you a network of resources as you reintegrate into your daily life.
-
Outpatient
In outpatient therapy, you’ll attend therapy sessions several times each week while living at home. This is ideal if you have a strong support system and a lower risk of relapse. Outpatient treatment offers flexibility to maintain work, school or family obligations.
